Ask the seller about a product form is nice but can it be removed?

The short answer is yes.

VM is nice, but with the product details display you are stuck with php coded "fly pages." If you want to include or exclude information about the produt, there are very few parameter options in the back end. You need to know php and edit the program that displays the details about a product.
So... if you like a particular fly page but don't want the "Ask seller about this product" you'll have to edit the php flypage program.

Here's the tip:

In your file manager (e.g. JoomlaXplorer), go to:

homedir/components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/templates/product_details

Open the flypage - check your category or site tabs to find what you are using.

in flypage.tbl.php (for example)

search for $ask_seller

then remove the code.

BE SURE TO KEEP TRACK OF THIS MODIFICATION. When you upgrade, it'll probably be overwritten and you back to modifying the code.

Or - save the edited php file with a new name and change your VirtueMart configuration to use the new flypage.

This is a great help. However I would like to change the words from "ask the seller about this product" to "email the seller about this product" I am using VirtueMart as a catalogue and want people to simply contatc the retailer about the product
